Am I Wrong… or Just Waiting?

There’s this ache in my spirit I can’t always explain.
I know what God showed me. I know the vision He placed in my heart. It wasn’t a fleeting dream or a random idea—it was something sacred. Something I didn’t even ask for, but something I carry like fire in my bones. And yet… everything around me seems to scream, “You’re wrong.”
Have you ever been there?
People around you don’t see it. They try to love you, sure. But their words—sometimes laced in doubt or casual concern—can shake you to your core.
“That’s a bit much, don’t you think?”
“Maybe God wants you to focus on something smaller.”
“Are you sure that was Him?”
And suddenly… I’m battling. Not with them. But with myself.
“God… was that really You?”
“Did I misunderstand You?”
“Am I even worthy of this calling?”
“Why isn’t it working yet?”
“Why do I feel like I’m proving my doubters right?”

It’s in these moments the enemy loves to creep in with whispers: You’re not good enough. You heard wrong. You’re failing. Give it up.
But then… I remember.

Noah looked foolish building an ark when there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
Abraham waited decades for a promise that felt impossible.
Joseph’s dreams took him straight into a pit and a prison before they ever led to a palace.
Jesus Himself was rejected in His own hometown.

And God? He didn’t rush. He didn’t explain Himself to everyone watching. But He fulfilled every single promise—in His time.
“Though the vision tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” – Habakkuk 2:3

And this—this part is what keeps me grounded:
“This is what the Lord says to his anointed… I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord…”
— Isaiah 45:1–3

Hidden treasures. Secret places.
Maybe I’m not wrong.
Maybe I’m just waiting.
Maybe the silence isn't punishment, but preparation.
Maybe the vision isn’t too big—maybe it's just God-sized.
And maybe my current fruitlessness isn’t failure—it’s just the seed still buried deep.
God doesn’t work on the timeline of our doubters. He works on His own—perfect, sovereign, and intentional. And when He’s ready? No one can stop it. Not even me.
So if you’re in that space today—battling between belief and doubt, vision and reality—I want you to know: you are not alone. And you are not crazy.
You might just be on the edge of something sacred.

Don’t give up. Don’t shrink it. Don’t stop believing just because no one else does.
Keep watering the vision with prayer. Keep fertilizing it with faith. And when it grows—and it will—let it be a testimony that it was never about being “right” in their eyes, but obedient in His.
“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…” – Philippians 1:6

Journal With Me:
What vision has God placed on your heart that others may not understand?
Write out what you believe He’s called you to. Be specific. Bold. Honest.
What are the doubts you're battling with right now?
Name them. Don’t hide them. Lay them out before God and yourself.
When was the last time you were absolutely sure God spoke to you? What did He say or show you?
Remind yourself of that moment. Revisit it. Record how it made you feel.
Do you believe you're worthy of the vision God gave you? Why or why not?
Explore your feelings about identity, worth, and calling. Invite God to speak into that.
Who are the voices around you that have caused you to doubt?
How much weight are you giving them? How can you shift your focus back to God's voice?
What does “waiting on God” look like for you today?
Is it resting? Praying? Creating? Taking a small step of faith?
Write a letter to your future self—after the promise is fulfilled.
Encourage yourself from the other side. Speak life over your own journey.
List 3 scriptures that strengthen your faith in this season. Why do they speak to you right now?
What fruit—no matter how small—can you already see growing?
Gratitude can remind us that God is already moving, even if it’s underground.
Write a prayer for your vision.
Surrender it. Water it. Speak life over it. Ask God to breathe on it in His timing.
